Managing Contacts

Key people across your deals: sellers, buyers, professionals, service providers, etc.

The Contacts page is your directory of key people across your deals—sellers, buyers, professionals, service providers—in one searchable place. Each contact can be attached to multiple deals as a participant. This article covers both your central directory and contacts on a deal.

Your Contacts Directory

Open Contacts from the navigation. The page shows your directory with:

  • Type filters: pills across the top narrow the list by contact type.
  • Search: find anyone by name.
  • Add contact: the header button creates a new record.
Adding a contact
  1. Click Add contact.
  2. Enter the contact's details and their type.
  3. Save. The contact appears in the directory immediately.
Contact details

Selecting a contact opens their detail view: their information and the deals they're linked to. The linked-deals view is the fastest way to answer "which transactions is this person involved in?"

Contacts on a deal

A contact record in the directory and a contact on a deal are related but distinct. Each deal has its own Contacts view listing the people on that transaction, and the deal's people also appear as small avatar circles in the deal's chrome.

Your client is captured when you create the deal. Attach additional participants from within the deal using the attach-contact option, picking from your directory.

Contact information on the deal is what powers addressing. The composer's suggested recipients are drawn from the email addresses captured on the deal.

Tip
  • Keep one directory record per person and attach it to each of their deals. That keeps their linked-deals history complete.
