Critical Dates

Track important deal milestones

Critical Dates is the deal's deadline tracker: escrow deadlines, inspection due dates, loan approval, closing date, and any other date with consequences. Dates live on the deal, appear on its dashboard card and header, and sync to your Google Calendar, so a deadline never depends on your memory.

Where Critical Dates Appear
  • Deal header: The deal's key dates are shown in the header card, visible from anywhere in the deal.
  • Dashboard card: Each deal's card shows its critical dates, so the pipeline view doubles as a deadline scan.
  • Critical Dates view: One of the deal's main views. It shows the full record, with a count of the dates tracked on the deal.
  • Your Google Calendar: Dates marked Synced flow out to your calendar. See Connecting Google Workspace and Your Account.
How the List is Organized

The Critical Dates view groups dates by urgency. Overdue dates sit at the top (never hidden; handle first), and Upcoming dates follow (turning amber inside 7 days), with later dates below.

Each date's row shows its calendar date, name, status (Overdue, or a days-remaining chip), and its provenance: whether the date was entered manually or calculated, and whether it's synced to your calendar.

Adding a Date
  1. Open the deal's Critical Dates view and click + Add date.
  2. Choose the date's Kind (Escrow, Inspection Due, Loan Approval Due, Closing Date, and so on) and adjust its Label if you want it named differently.
  3. Set the Date (or leave it blank if it isn't known yet) and add optional Notes.
  4. Save.

Most of a deal's critical dates arrive with the contract. Once the Offers step is done, transcribing the contract's deadlines into Critical Dates should be the next thing you do.

Editing and maintaining dates

Dates change: extensions get signed, closings move. The edit control on each row opens the same form (Kind, Label, Date, Source, Notes) with a Delete option. Keeping this list true to the current contract is one of the highest-value habits in the platform: it's the difference between a tracker you trust and one you double-check.

Tips
  • Enter dates exactly as the contract defines them, and label them the way you and your client talk about them.
  • A date without a value yet ("we don't know closing until financing clears") can still be created. Leave the date blank and fill it when it's set, so the placeholder itself reminds you.
